MS9 Part 1 of 2 - Stability of Nonlinear Waves and Coherent Structures

MS9 Part 2 of 2

Abstract:
In this minisymposium researchers can exchange recent developments and novel techniques to handle the question of (in)stability of nonlinear waves and coherent structures. Although the focus of this session lies on analytical techniques, we will also elaborate on applications and showcase numerical results and simulations. The question of stability is addressed from different perspectives: we will consider both spectral and nonlinear stability, results in explicit systems as well as general statements, and a number of issues related to stability such as bifurcations and long-term dynamics.
